Well Placed Pet

Rescue Well provides free marketing and adopter screening assistance to owners that are re-homing pets. We proactively offer this service to Craig\’s List advertisers, Facebook/Yard Sale advertisers, and to owners that contact us through shelters, rescue groups, and through our 24 hour hotline.

Shelter Support

Rescue Well provides a variety of services to area shelters, including re-home support, post-adoption support, and surrender prevention for pet owners that contact the shelter. We also provide transport assistance via our volunteer Certified Transport Team.

Crisis Hotline

Rescue Well runs a 24 hour Crisis Hotline which receives an average of 800-1,200 calls per month from in-crisis pet owners, area crisis centers, and organizations that assist people in crisis, like domestic violence shelters.

Intervention and Community Support

Rescue Well provides year-round feet-on-the-street presence in Maryland\’s most at-risk communities. We establish lasting relationships with the communities we serve, and we intervene to prevent or stop abuse and neglect by either offering information, resources, and support to owners, or through collaboration with Animal Control and/or Law Enforcement.

Coalition of Rescues - East

Rescue Well founded the Coalition of Rescues - East (CORE) to unite the region\’s rescues, shelters, and advocates in our shared goal of placing pets in safe and healthy homes. We collaborate and support one another, and we share resources, information, and opportunities. Today, CORE has over 50 organizations and over 425 members.
